Dentoalveolar

Dentoalveolar surgery is the surgical management of diseases of the teeth and their supporting hard and soft tissues, typically not including the restoration of teeth and application of crowns, bridges, and other dental prostheses. These procedures include pre-prosthetic surgery to prepare the bone within the mouth for final restoration with either removable or non-removable dental appliances.

Other procedures include management of orofacial infections, frenectomies, and treatment of cysts/tumors of the jaws and face. In most cases, our experienced surgeons will perform dentoalveolar surgeries in one of our offices under IV sedation.

Some of the above information was obtained and reprinted with permission from The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
