The "Belly Button Make-Over" or Umbilicoplasty is a unique procedure designed to improve the appearance of the central abdomen including the belly button (umbilicus). It is often done in-conjunction of liposuction to flatten the area immediately surrounding the umbilicus. Next, the skin is carefully trimmed and the belly button is tailored to the shape you request.
Some patients have an "Outie Belly Button" and wish to have this converted to an "Innie Belly Button". This also can be easily done in our state-of-the-art, accredited surgical facility. These procedures are often done with the patient under anesthesia or "twilight sleep". Dissolvalbe stitches may be used to minimize the worries of having to have stitches taken out.
When you are examined to see if you are a good candidate for this procedure, the doctor will carefully evaluate you and make sure you have no risk factors. Also, if a small hernia is present, it may be fixed at same time depending on the size of the hernia.
